Vetaphone’s VE1A series of Corona treaters are making Corona treatment easier than ever before.
The powerful and compact VE1A treaters are designed especially for narrow web applications and the label industry. The simple and elegant Scandinavian design makes the VE1A station easy to integrate but difficult to notice on your narrow web printing line. So why not do as the thousands of narrow printers already using the VE1A, and forget about Corona? The Corona electrodes are mounted according to the Quick Change electrode system in a specially designed and easy removable cartridge. This enables easy cleaning or changing of the complete set of electrodes in a matter of seconds, and thereby providing reduced maintenance costs and increased productivity.
The stations can handle up to 6 kW/m treatment, which is sufficient to treat almost any type of substrate. The size of the VE1A station has been kept to a minimum, ensuring mounting directly in-line in an appropriate position on narrow web presses.
The stations are equipped with ceramic electrodes for treatment of both electrically conductive substrates and non-conductive film. The ceramic electrode system can be upgraded from four to six highly efficient ceramic electrodes if treatment of difficult materials is required.
“To improve our customer’s production we have as the only manufacturer on the market decided to design a treater station with up to six highly efficient ceramic electrodes. With the use of four or six electrodes you can corona treat the surface with much higher energy levels, leaving a better surface adhesion on the end product,” says Mr. Eisby
To fulfil the increasing demand for precision and quality in the printing process Vetaphone has among other things designed the label treater with double-end plates. This construction makes the label treater more robust which ensures a more uniform surface adhesion on the end product.
The units can be supplied with ozone extraction from the back or from the top of the station. Besides removing the ozone the extraction unit also has a cooling effect on the ceramic electrodes, giving them prolonged durability. All parts utilized in the stations are made from corrosion and ozone-proof materials.
Vetaphone has received only positive feedback on VE1A station, in particular the possibility of keeping maintenance at an absolute minimum has proven very popular.
” Our wide experience with the VE1A Station shows that this treater saves your company not only time but also reduces your maintenance costs – a must for the labelling industry,” ends Managing director Mr. Eisby.
Naturally the benefits of Vetaphone’s VE1A treater have been noticed by most narrow web machine builders, which now specify Vetaphone on all of their presses.
“We choose to specify Vetaphone corona treaters on all Edale presses for a number of reasons; We have had a long standing relationship with Vetaphone and in this time have always received good support and had no problems with reliability of the units out in the field. The quality of the finished product is very high. They deliver a better finished and press ready product than other suppliers. They are simple to set up and use, requiring almost no commissioning upon install and the performance of the treater has always met or surpassed our expectations. On top of this, Vetaphone have always been keen to offer custom specified units as required by Edale.”
