Our new C8 corona treater station is designed for substrates and applications where high corona power is required from a single unit. As the name suggests, it is fitted with 8 high-power and high-efficiency ceramic electrodes. This allows more corona power to be discharged from a compact modular system suitable for today’s demanding label stocks. Like all our other corona treater stations, the C8 offers 24/7 corrosion-proof design as well as improved maintenance-friendly features placing it firmly in the ‘next generation’ of surface treatment.
Explaining the decision to develop and launch the C8, Frank Eisby (CEO) states: “With basic Corona requirements already well catered for, we designed the new C8 for more demanding applications, such as the new substrates that have a more complex chemistry. These require higher power corona treatment to achieve the necessary dyne level. With our new C8 treater station you can apply the levels of corona per square metre that the modern presses need to run these challenging materials.”
By fitting 8 electrodes in the unit, the C8 can apply high power corona at high running speeds. Available in web widths from 362mm (14.25”) to 572mm (22.5”) and capable of treating at web speeds in excess of 300m/min (985ft/min), the new C8 corona treater, which is both CE and UL approved, has already found a market in the digital sector, where its compact efficiency is adding to productivity.
